hi chaps, bit of a problem hoping you can help, car been fine for years but had a problem recently so took it to garage, paid 900 for fix but now has fault codes P0700 transmission control system, mil request -circuit malfunction and also code 00293 multi function switch F125. undefined switch position no trouble type rcognised.

i have no idea what these are but the garage said "to fix it we will have to remove the sump again and it's gonna cost ya another 600 " as car is only worth about 1200 i cannot do this.

can anyone tell me if they know what these problems are, i have a mate i could ask to replace or fix some bits but he doesn't know anything about fault codes but he is pretty good when it comes to fixing stuff.

many thanks.

sounds to me they might have fooked up,have these problems rear up since they carried out so called repairs?if so tell them to sort it out as they have obviously either displaced something or not reconected what they have removed????

or it could just be bad timing on your part and your car is just throwing a wobbler and requires some TLC?

as i do not have your car details im clutching at straws here but google is your friend,

So you had some fault with your gearbox that's been repaired is that OK now? if electrical parts have been replaced you may have to reset basic settings using Vagcom.

Do you have drive ability problems as you didn't say what your problem was
